The team at McWherter Scott & Bobbitt is proud to announce all three of our partners – Brandon McWherter, Clint Scott and Jonathan Bobbitt – are recognized in the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for the work they do on behalf of clients throughout the Jackson, Tennessee area.

Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers® has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Best Lawyers lists are compiled based on an exhaustive peer-review evaluation. More than 116,000 industry leading lawyers are eligible to vote (from around the world), and they have received more than 17 million evaluations on the legal abilities of other lawyers based on their specific practice areas around the world.

For the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, more than 12.2 million votes were analyzed, which resulted in more than 71,000 leading lawyers honored in the new edition. Lawyers are not required nor allowed to pay a fee to be listed; therefore, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor.

Meet our award-winning attorneys

Brandon McWherter. This is Brandon’s 10th year of inclusion on the Best Lawyers list, for his work in Commercial Litigation and Insurance Law. For a decade, Brandon has dedicated his practice to assisting insurance policyholders with their claims against insurance companies, including claims for bad faith, obtaining well in excess of $100,000,000 in settlements, awards, and jury verdicts. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

Clint Scott. Recognized by Best Lawyers since 2016 for his work in Insurance Law, Clint was also named a 2021 Lawyer of the Year. Over the years, Clint’s work in the courtroom has resulted in multiple seven figure verdicts – as trial work is his true passion. As managing partner, he devotes a substantial part of his time to securing the firm’s continued viability via geographic growth and fostering an environment that fuels a passion for service to our clients. Clint is admitted to practice in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri.

Jonathan Bobbitt. Jonathan has been recognized by Best Lawyers since 2016 for his work in Litigation, and named to The National Trial Lawyers Insurance Bad Faith Top 10 list for his on behalf of policyholders. Insurance disputes are Jonathan’s specialties, handling claims of all sizes. The success in his practice can be evidenced in the significant settlements he has secured for his clients. Jonathan is admitted to practice in Tennessee and Mississippi.

All three of our partners have been previously recognized for their work by MidSouth Super Lawyers, and are rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell. And, they are admitted in multiple federal courts in each state.
