McWherter Scott & Bobbitt Welcomes David Riley to the Firm

David Riley has joined McWherter Scott & Bobbitt and will work out of our Memphis office.

With more than 25 years in civil litigation, David brings a wealth of experience to the Firm. Over the course of his career, he has handled insurance matters, personal injury claims, wrongful death cases, commercial disputes, and other complex cases involving major companies and industry defendants.

Before joining McWherter Scott & Bobbitt, David spent more than two decades practicing law and brings with him substantial experience with insurance-related litigation, including claim strategy, coverage disputes, trial work, claims handling, defense strategy, regulatory compliance, and insurance coverage issues.

That experience is especially valuable to our firm’s work on behalf of policyholders. David understands how to evaluate insurance claims, how disputes develop, and how to prepare cases when an insurer refuses to do what the policy requires.

Education, admissions, and professional recognition

David is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation, a peer-selected honor limited to less than 5% of Tennessee attorneys.

He earned his B.S. in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Martin and his J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.

David is admitted to practice before the Tennessee Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the Memphis and Shelby County Bar Association.
